ABOUT KULTURARCHIV EUROPA

KULTURARCHIV EUROPA, or KAE for short, is first and foremost a non-commercial, ad-free radio show on ALEX Berlin on 91.0 MHz FM, broadcast every 4th Monday at 4pm in Berlin, curated and hosted by Joanna A. Stotko.

The takeover of the broadcasting slot happened suddenly and unexpectedly, and so the journey began with the spontaneous idea of presenting all genres of music through the ages, including classical music and folklore, while also covering the historical-cultural background. This is how the name KULTURARCHIV EUROPA was born.

THE BROADCAST SERIES UNEARTHED

But soon it became clear that the support and promotion of contemporary artists in the field of subculture and underground would take a higher priority – so the series UNEARTHED was born, which regularly presents contemporary underground artists and musical niches and -if possible- additionally dedicates a post in the magazine to the artists, with information provided directly by the artists or an UNEARTHED INTERVIEW.

SUBMISSION OF MUSIC

KULTURARCHIV EUROPA is a non-commercial, ad-free radio program. The selection of songs or artists is solely based on our own research and discretion. No advertising and no songs will be played on the air in exchange for fees. Therefore, it is requested to refrain from advertising requests. However, artists, labels and other cultural professionals are welcome to use the contact details under GET IN TOUCH to get in touch with KAE.

THE KAE ONLINE MAGAZINE

In addition to the radio show, which is currently broadcast every 4 weeks, KAE offers additional information from the world of music on its website. The KAE ONLINE MAGAZINE (formerly “Bulletin”) shares information about new artists, releases, concerts, etc.
