Andy was not only the keyboardist who preferred to stay in the background, but as a founding member he was there from the most tender beginnings of the band. It will now be gripping to see if Dave Gahan and Martin Gore continue on without Andy, or if Andy’s death means the end of one of the greatest pop bands in history…
