ANIQO
ANIQO released her debut album BIRTH in March 2022 on the Berlin label SPRINGSTOFF. The exceptional artist and poet of dark pop combines mysticism and magic – her songs and stories are dedicated to metaphorical themes like life, birth and death – the music is full of longings, but it is never the longing for another place, but always for another state of mind. ANIQO exudes a captivating intensity and strength with her hauntingly raw, evocative voice. With great psychedelic guitars, driving drums and special electronic and synth effects, ANIQO bridges the gap between today’s indie, rock & pop and the best of the post-punk and new wave era. BIRTH was created with her bandmates Torsten Füchsel and Illia Vovk and producer Guy Sternberg (Kings of Convenience, Feist and Yoko Ono) at Berlin’s LowSwing Studios and with Joe Cardamone (Mark Lanegan, Warren Ellis of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds) in Los Angeles.

MEGALØPOLIS
MEGALØPOLIS, accent on Ø, play hymns from the uncanny valley of modern life. Songs for surfers with stellar smiles and the drowning just out of view. Insomniac incantations for people of all genders whose black bikini comes with a choker. The eclectic sound of this multicultural five-piece from Berlin sprawls like its urban namesake and is every bit as labyrinthine. Take a good portion of rock that is equal parts garage and kraut, throw in some post punk and goth vibes for good measure, add just a dash of thrash and then top it all off with a dollop of good ol’ anti-capitalist dadaism – it’s a poignant sonic elixir only MEGALØPOLIS know how to serve up right. Formed in 2019, the lineup emerged from multiple individual bedroom projects which were stripped of their solipsism and forged into a well-oiled psychedelic machine.
